What happens when soldiers who survived overseas military deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan come home?
We might believe that once they get home, everything will be fine. Life will go on like it was before the war, back to normal. That’s what the soldiers thought, and that’s what their spouses and families thought. The reality is different because war changes everything.
What keeps our most important relationships working?
On this episode of The Creator Community, we’ll hear of the stories of couples that have found a way to effectively navigate the challenges of military deployments.
There is no 1 solution but you’ll learn common themes, especially resilience, that help to keep military couples together and that we can all learn from.
Key Points:
- Any marriage has its difficulties, but a military marriage has a different set of diffuculties. Not only does one have their responsibilities to their family, but also the duties and responsibilities that have been taken on for the country.
- Though oftentimes only one partner is deployed, both partners make sacrifices for the military. Both have stories of strength, heartbreak, growth, and resilience.
- Communication, connection and commitment are the keys to resiliency post deployment and a bulletproof marriage.
